Orientation to Paul

The P. Auman Family
|
|
Paul is a graduate of the Brigham Young University English Teaching program. He graduated in April 1997. Paul has had the opportunity to teach in a small town middle school in Utah for one year as an intern prior to his graduation. Unfortunately, his love of learning and teaching did not pay the bills as effectively as he would like.
He now works as an administrative assistant for a health care organization, Kaiser Permanente, in their Santa Clara, California facility. He is also working on several product support certifications from Microsoft, and with luck, an MCSE. He loves working (playing) with his home PC, and has installed hardware and software on his workstation at work.
For entertainment, Paul enjoys writing short stories and, most especially, working on cars with his father. A 1967 Camaro is in the works for himself, and his father is assembling a '66 426 Hemi motor to be mounted (again with luck) in a 1961 Dodge Lancer Stationwagon, (and if no luck is available, then a suitable roadster/musclecar.) A 1970 Challenger, 1968 Superbee, and several late model cars in the works as well. In fact, Paul would like to acquire a '91 or later Chrysler Turbo III or IV motor for his '91 Sundance commuter car.
As Paul administrates this web site, it is his hope to provide samples of short stories from time to time, for critique and enjoyment. Many will be quick

Current News/Short Stories Available
|
|
At this time (3/10/98--first construction of this page) there are no short stories available.
The largest bit of news of late is the wedding of Shaunalie's sister, Julie, currently scheduled for April. (We'll see.)
Status of the Camaro: The motor sits with a temporary two barrel on a stock manifold for smog purposes. It was recently registered in California before the new smog laws which release 1973 and older models from the smog check. It will soon be swapped for the preferred 750cfm Holley four barrel. The engine is a 400cid small block (actually 30 over for a total of about 407cid.) For those driving BMW Z3's and Nissan Z cars, that's 6.6 liters. Before a rebuild of the motor (a simple refreshing had been done) the car pulled 13.9's at the drag strip with about 101 mph. That was the highschool attempt. Current capabilities are unknown. That run was performed with open exhaust through a Turbo Hydro 400 and 3.31 non-posi rear end. The car now has a Chrysler 8 3/4 rear end with 3.23 sure-grip rear, and considerably more compression in the motor. Mid to low 13's are expected with street tires. It is also run through a heavily beefed up TH700R4 transmission with a much lower first gear than the TH400, plus an overdrive.
The body is incomplete, as well as the interior, because they are in the midsts of being stripped and refinished. My father, William, has recently acquired a home powder-coating system which is being used to coat ALL trim with gloss black coating. The eventual look will be monochromatic black. Everything that you don't have to see through or shine lights through will be black.

Dodge Home Page If you like trucks and R/T model cars/trucks than this is the site for you. It has the best pricing format I've seen on any automaker's website. Check out the Dakota R/T. About my favorite late model car--now if it only handled like a GMC S truck with sport handling and looked like the Ram Sport.
